"Senator from Arizona has gone on record as a staunch supporter of the Iraq war since the beginning but, as poll numbers plummet, he is now voicing his own displeasure over the war. He called the war Cheney’s "witch's brew" and "terribly mishandled". He also said that our troops on are the verge of a terrible defeat. The rant didn’t stop at the Vice President as he stated, "The president listened too much to the Vice President . . . Of course, the president bears the ultimate responsibility, but he was very badly served by both the Vice President and, most of all, the Secretary of Defense."
He added, “"Rumsfeld will go down in history, along with McNamara, as one of the worst secretaries of defense in history." It comes as no surprise that McCain lashed out at Rummy but Cheney, on the other hand, has usually earned kind words from McCain.
McCain also said although he supports the surge that President Bush is trying to push, he doesn’t know if it will work and also if its enough troops. He says that we can not afford to lose and that is why he supports the tactic. On his ambitions for the Presidency he said, "Most people in New Hampshire, South Carolina, Michigan, Arizona, people around the country know me rather well," he added, "It's not as if I am a blank slate out there. Most of them, I think, have confidence that I have the experience, knowledge and background that, even though they disagree with me on a specific issue, they think I will do the right thing. Or at least what I believe is right."
________ Bush Derangement Syndrome is spreading folks "witch's brew" "terribly mishandled" Rummy one of the worst defence secretaries in history. Is this Ted Kennedy nope its John McCain, can't wait for them to try and swiftboat him on this one down the road in conservative style. |

Join the club LazFX same here when Bush originally took over I said to myself and others give him a chance, little did I realize, they managed to turn me away from the Republican party as I saw the events unfolding surrounding their policies. Steps that seemed to run counter to what I knew of the Republcan party. The American people verified my belief in the past elections and there is more to come for this party to wake up.
I believe that the Iraq policy is dead wrong and I refused to blindy support it because the tag line next to the President's name says republican. |

| You have to remember that McCain is a Vietnam vet and a POW at that. Sure he's a neo-con and all for spreading the democracy in an area that loves totalitarian style government, but the guy is a Vet and understands what's going on with our soldiers. He's been bitching about the way the war has been going for the last year now. I'm just not sure whether he's actually grown some balls or he's trying to distance himself before making his bid for 08'. My guess is the latter. |
