I think there was a huuge thread about it somewhere down the line.

Goa to me personally has a lot more influence from the indian region, with more focus on the initial melody with the kick/bassline being less prominent. Psy to me, and obv only me, reminds me more of the stuff where the bassline/percussion & kick are much more dominant and there's more on the 'tricks' side & less of the intricacies of a goa melody. obviously i could be totally wrong, but it's how i look at it |

Yeah, same here. Psy has more wonky sound effects and the dreadful kick+bass. |

Ok, thats kind of what my thoughts are too. Goa more warm and colourful. Psy more rhythmic and dry.
Wikipedia says calls Psy more "metallic". That sounds about right.
If that is the case, I definitely like Goa style more.
Getting back to the topic then, is there such a genre as prog-goa or goa-house? That would be very nice. |

| im not sure simply because goa as a genre is pretty dead |

Filteria, Ypsilon 5 and there are a few others who still do proper goa. |

Filteria is a relativly newcomer but has some nice old-type of feeling to the music still feeling like something new. |
