Anyone tried any sample packs other than the usual ones we hear about?
Here's my opinion on the ones I've tried (concentrating on drums):
VEC1 - OK, too hardstyle and uncontrolled sounding though.
VEC2 - And again.
Big Fish Audio Rush - Crap, unless you want other people to make music for you. Of the 1.3GB all you get is 270MB of average/verging below average single drum hits, the rest is drum/synth loops.
Thomas Penton Essential Drums & Percussion - Good samples, controlled/tight sound, slightly house biased.
Ueberschall Techno Trance Essentials - Controlled/tight sound, quite clean sounding too which is good for the 99/2000 style.
Dance mega drums - Only heard some of these samples which seemed too unspecialised to me and drum-machine samples I could whip off the web for free. I'd like to know what other people thought of this though.
VIP-Zone Basses (Inc 300 kicks) - Too hardstyle, a couple of half decent kicks but mostly too brash or empty/digital sounding.
++++++++++
So anyone tried other samples? |
