I think the problem for you is that you've obviously got deep issues. Perhaps a girlfriend ran off with another girl, or you bent over & got more than you bargained for.
Onto the case of adoption. The catholic church is refusing in the uk to let gay people adopt, they say they'll have to shut down their adoption agencies if they have to give gay people the same rights as straight. Lets remember what all these religions & churches have done though, so much war, ignorance & not a lot of good.
I can't agree with theresa so much on single people adopting, simply because many single parents in the uk have no control of their kids, use them to get money by continuously getting pregnant & the manner & culture of many of these kids now is terrible, the fact they only have 1 parent means they have no discipline & I think that 2 parents are necessary, be it 2 mums, 2 dads, 1 of each or a cat & a dog. |
If a single person decided to adopt, they would have to go through as hectic a process as a couple, if not worse. I am sure that you have to have a certain level of financial stability in order to qualify as an adoptive parent. |

I think so too. To make sure you're suitable, secured, stable.
Plenty of single parents raise their kids well. The UK is probably different, which it seems to be by reading what you posted, but I do understand where you are coming from. |

its obvious that being straight is "right" as its the only way to conceive. its natural. and as much as im neutral on the gay issue, homosexuality is not natural and it never will be. itll always be taboo because of that.
as far as them adopting, if its into a normal, loving family then more power to them. |

I do get the points you & theresa are both making. In the uk at the moment, there are huge problems, with youth behaviour, crime, and the measures taken to deal with them.
ASBO (Anti-Social Behaviour Order) are given out to people, but they've become seen as being cool. It's no longer safe in many places because of huge gangs of youths fighting & intimidating. For example, a friend of my mothers is an old lady with a guide dog. Her dog was attacked recently by a gang of youths for no reason whatsoever, kicked & punched just for kicks. Filming beatings & uploading them to youtube is becoming popular too & much of these people come from broken families, where the parents either don't care or are split & the father can't get to see the kid.
http://www.chavscum.co.uk/index.php is a good show of the kind of idiot we have running around our streets. Crime is just not punished, so they continue to do it. People are afraid to stick up for themselves & those who do are often punished in injury, death or taunts. It's a pretty sad state of affairs, but a lot of it comes down to the parents, who pop until they drop. I live by a school & you should see some of the ignorant people who have kids there. They shouldn't be allowed children. |

Yeah, but ASBOs are legally insane because they basically allow any act to be considered a criminal offense chargable by court. In fact, if this sort of law were to try and happen in America or even Canada it would be it would be immediately struck down as antisocial and inconstitution in and of itself (not to mention evidence for ASBOs is allowed to be both anonymous and hearsay). |
