All-in-all a good night of music @ Spirits. Got there and heard about 45 minutes of Edgar's set. I liked what he was playing, although it wasn't as techy and hard as the last time I went - which I liked a little more. Either way Edgar has to be the most diverse DJ down here right now, not only does he play trance and house, but he can play and mix different styles within each genre perfectly. I can only hope they let him headline that room soon and take the handcuffs off of him, so he can play a full-on trance set Blue room style.

As for Shiver, I thought his set was good, but definitely not great IMO. Now a lot of that has to do with my personal taste, and here's why. Firstly Edgar had built up and energized the room nicely, and then Shiver came on and completely stopped the music. :conf: Not a good move IMO. But then he made it worse by starting off his set way too slow with melodic vocal trance, which just took the energy level down too much from where it had been. Throughout his set I heard more vocal melodic trance tracks than I cared for, culminating in his playing Satellite, not the worst track several years ago b4 it was played out, but definitely not something I wanted to hear at all last night. I will say he did pick it up after starting slow, banged it out nicely at times, had a lot of energy and crowd interaction behind the decks (despite the low turnout), and mixed flawlessly. So besides some track selection issues he was good IMO I guess.

And note to Spirits promoters, get to work. I went twice B4 (opening night and a couple of weeks ago) and last night was by far the least people I have seen at Spirits, far less than half as many people as last time. I am sure you guys are trying, but you need to get some more heads in there.

Anyways what AV1 said is true... Edgar laid it out nice for him and he did start a lil too soft.. but I left before I can really judge the guy.

I am not good at IDs at all, but I am pretty sure it was the original. Where's DA, I think he lists all tracks in his cell. The EOS mashup is actually better IMO.
