Synopsis
The film primarily examines the rave sub-culture from the perspective of an upwardly-mobile and severely disillusioned twenty-something, Kyle. Like many major youth movements, the white-hot idealism that defined it simply ran its course, leaving a trail of seared nerve-endings and hardened cynics in its wake. Another theme the film will explore is the intersection between the “drug experience” and the “divine experience,” and more specifically, the notion that any mode or method of attaining a state of self-transcendence (by way of drugs or otherwise) is flawed, and at best, a fools errand.
The premiere of the film will be held at the Canes Film Festival in May at the University of Miami.
