List of Tracks' BPM?

| Is there a web site that lists the BPM of trance tracks? Maybe y'all would consider this cheating or something, but I think it would allow one to start at a pitch adjustment that would be close to what one needs. I would still obviously have to fine tune and such.... Opinions? |

If you absolutely HAVE to use BPM to match pitch, then I suggest just counting yourself.
I usually just get a stopwatch, and count how many beats there are for 10 seconds of the song, then multiply by 6. |

| There's a computer program out there that lets you find the bpm of all line-in/mic music. Not mp3's, but if you plug your TT/Mixer and run it into your computer it'll record the BPM's down to a tenth of a beat. I use it all the time, helps me organize my records. |

What's that program called? I really want something like that so I can catalogue my records.... |

I think using BPM's to help with mixing is a very bad idea. All it will do is teach you to become reliant on them, and as soon as you are in a situation where you don't have a stopwatch and a calculator then you are totally screwed.
Learn to beatmatch by ear from the start and you will find it a lot easier later on. |

Yes, I agree with Teknique & TJ. U have to learn it using your ears. I know it's very frustrating at first, but here's that old cliché: practice makes perfect. (I really hate saying that and I have no clue why I'm saying it now :))
O yeah, and counting helped for me in the beginning.
