Nothing to expensive but something that i can be useing for a while (not something im gonnna learn in 2 days and then need to upgrade) I was looking at the Pioneer EFX-500. is that any good? anything else i should look at?

Thanks

define cheap. you could look at things like behringer tweakwiliser, alesis air fx, they go pretty cheap. Or check ebay, kp1, kp2 are selling at very decent prices now the kp3 is announced. Sure you don't get the latest but they can still be alot of fun

The most fun I've had was with the KP2. But it's not the most practical, Try getting a second hand EFX-500 from Pioneer. Or if You're on a REALLY tight budget, an Alexis AirFX.

If you already have a laptop, I'd suggest a multi-input sound card and Ableton Live. Then later on buy a midi controller. It may be a little more than you were planning on spending, but it's pretty much limitless (free VSTs).

The KP2 stops you from making presets so it's hard to get the same sound twice, unlike the EFX 500 though. It's no harder to get used to, infact I think it's a far sight easier, just if you're looking for the same Effect over and over again in different parts of a mix it's quite difficult as you have to put your finger/thumb/whatever on the same spot again and again.
