My new cat!!!

Hey guys, as some of you know I had to put my cat to sleep a few weeks ago due to complications. Yesterday, my mom and I went to a bunch of shelters to go looking for the perfect cat. After nearly 4 hours of searching we finally found one. Here are the pictures...
We haven't come up with a name for him yet. His name was Sparky at the shelter and he's about 1.5 years old and very friendly. One of my favorite things about him are the outlines next to his eyes. It almost appears as if he has eye-liner on! When he was in the carrier on the way home he didn't make one noise. He's a little shy now but I'm expecting that to wear off sooner or later.
For those of you from Long Island that are looking for a pet, I HIGHLY reccommend going to Little Shelter in Huntington. They have a very knowledgeable staff and don't keep any of their animals in cages. I found that the most impressive out of everything. There were nearly 50 cats roaming/sleeping and none of them had any kind of beef with the one next to them.
He jumped up on my lap this morning so I'm expecting great things from him in the near future :D :D :D :D :D

| aww... cat... I love picking out a cat, I'm glad you got one that's not a kitten so you can give him a good home :) we got ours from North Shore Animal League almost 10 years ago... I also used to volunteer at the Glen Cove animal shelter for about 5 hrs a week for a good 2 years in middle school.. always felt bad for the ones in the tiny cages, yea, used to take em out and let them roam around while I cleaned everything. Some got to live in the big play pens with 10 cats in them though, that was nice... I always wanted to take this big fat grey cat, my favorite, I named him Smokey or Mr. Smokes lol ... |

| That wouldn't be nice to change his name after being called it for over a year......I just feel bad that they named him Sparky. lol Nice looking cat.:) |

That is one of my questions. Is it bad for me to change his name? I'm really not a fan of Sparky (the name).
