ok guys,

i am sure that i am not the only person with this problem:
-I have ~ 40-50GB of mp3's and I am sure that i have many songs multiple times
-I have umm..'recived' my mp3's from multiple 'providers'

now I have a huge 'blob' or messed up dir's with tons of mp3's and I am starting to download songs over and over again.

I need a cool tool, that will do this:
A. find duplicate mp3's
B. help me untangle my dir stucture
C. Help me set up shortcuts between dirs:
I have a Folder for all Tiesto songs, yet one of his tracks in on a Compilation I own (and ripped). I want to keep the compilation together, but still want to be able to quickly find ALL tiesto songs i own from within my Tiesto Dir..

Anyone have any ideas, or do I need to start writing my own proggy/ DB application?:conf:

the only prog I use to organize my MP3s is

Mp3-Tag Studio 2.16

tags all my MP3s nice and neat.
but for reorganizing your mp3s....you're gonna have to do that yourself! i spend so much time organizing my , it's ridiculous.

After 20 mp3 cd's I realized that I need to catalogize them... I use WhereIsIt to do this. It's easy, and really fast. Not to mention, you can export the list to excel (for example), and make a nice search site with some work. Just look at mine: http://www.bigdil.tk/. Click on 'mp3'.
Anyways.. Before downloading a track, sometimes the artist or the title is familiar to me, so I check it in my archive, maybe I already got it...

But, 40-50 GB... That's huge. You want to keep them all? (Except the multiple ones of course :))

I have 40 gigs of mp3's too... not many duplicates, but I just don't listen to all of them cause a lot suck... but I don't like deleting things so I just keep on adding hard drives ;)

I don't use any of these mp3 programs, but if I remember correctly if you go to audiogalaxy.com and look around you will find a huge list of mp3 database programs.
