no, intelligence is the ability to use information. accessing information is only related to intelligence insofar as other information is utilised to find what youre after.

I was really excited about online communities a couple years ago when i was a dumb teen idiot. Really thought something could come out of it.

Now, with many years of interacting with them, the conclusion i reached is that they're an utter waste of time. I only keep on visiting them due to habit, having a lot of free time to kill, and plain addiction really. One of these days I should just cut off my internet and spend my free time developing an alcoholic addiction on the pub, it's more productive.

Fine, if it suits you better, read every time I wrote "intelligence" as "intellect" or "smarts" or "data capacity" or whatever other term you would prefer. The semantics of the concept are not what concern me.

It took the internet to tell you that? I'm constantly reminded of it just driving to and from school and work everyday, and even moreso at work (retail).

well, logically it could just be the people in your immediate locality that are seriously stupid. but with the rise of message boards and blogs etc its now possible to say that stupid is indeed a worldwide phenomenon ;)

You'd think so, but it's not. I've traveled to San Francisco and Vancouver within the last six months. At each location I have noticed the same idiotic and stupid things taking place. I have to give points to Vancouver, however, because I noticed less of it there.

Edit: It probably sounds like I think I'm better than most people. This is my disclaimer, where I'll mention that I do stupid just as often as everybody else.
