Greetings... I've been on hiatus, and that's partially thanks to college. In the past two days, I had a huge injection of inspiration. This is somewhat experimental, but how should I describe it? Here are a few ideas:
1. You can download it [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
(Don't ask me why putfile tacked 69 on there... that happened when I updated the mp3).
2. Take the drum sounds of 80s hair bands.
3. Add a HUGE bass that sounds a smidge like "Take my breath away".
4. Add a little modern EDM.
5. Mix 30% Joe Satriani and shake, not stirr.
Sometimes it sounds funky... and other times just catchy. It was mixed on headphones, so I'm sure the bass is a hit and miss, really. |

That kick, bass, mainsynth and melody creates a very interesting atmosphere! Well done! :)

I agree with Akia. Retro all the way :)
The shaker hihats feel like they are completely out of the mix. You should make their volume way lower, maybe compress them together with the other drums.
Otherwise great work :) |
