i dont get it, does this mean that all the busy dj's always play a prerecorded mix on the radio? |
I believe (if I'm not right, feel free to correct me) that Tiesto made a business decision not to worry about the radio world that often and concentrate on his own production, tour schedule, and upcoming performances. He's never been much of a radio guy.
Guys like Armin and Markus have had an established radio show for years, and I think they factor that into their schedule where-as Tiesto doesn't have time, or the need to do so. If you really need/want to catch a radio set from Tiesto, there's always the Essential Mix he has recorded nearly every year.
As for DJ's airing pre-recorded sets, I'd be pretty amazed if a DJ records a set 'live' (as in studio, not live in concert) these days just for radio play. Armin we all know has gone to using Ableton and a lot of the guests I've had on my show personally send me a monthly mix that they send out to multiple shows/stations. |

For all the millions of Tiesto bashers out there (who love to populate this site with negative comments perpetually whenever a Tiesto thread comes up), I say only this
Remember the immortal words of Mark Twain, who said, "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect." |

cool, i didn't know that, i knew some of his mixes were prerecorded but not all.. i always thought that the whole point of a radio mix is playing a mix live at the studio, i guess i was wrong |
