Well...I've been a long time lurker and short on posts.

My background in music is pretty diverse...Floyd, Underworld, New Order, Daft Punk, etc. My first real whiff of trance was when I invited my little sister to come out from the midwest and join me for Rave on the Rocks at Red Rocks (Denver, CO) in 2000. Paul Oakenfold was headlining. I heard that the venue was great, but I hadn't been there since moving to Vail, Colorado (I had just graduated from engineering school and landed my first 'real' job).

The evenings preparations were great. My little sister made her famous 'magic' chocolates. Long story short.....that night was MAGIC.

After hearing the music, I instantly sprung for my first DJ equipment. A pile of *#%$ Gemini CD deck and mixer. That lasted all of 2 months. Then came the 2 x Tech 1200s and a Pioneer DJM 600. Needless to say, I was hooked. But that isn't the end of the story.

A year later in 2001, I was spinning a gig when I met my then future wife. She was also a DJ. Her first music out of her mouth was "Your music f#%king sucks." At the time, she was a breaks and a house DJ. Needless to say, two weeks later she was playing my records.

These days, I am pretty much retired from playing out. Me and my wife have two beautiful boys, Vandit (3 years old) and Corsten (1-1/2 years old). If you think those names are good, we have two Jack Russel Terriers....Oakie and Tiesto.

Yes, the music has affected my life. Its a LIFESTYLE.

For the record, my DJ name is Christopher James and my wife's is Lisa Marie. Together we have spun out (tag teamed) under the name Spy vs. Spy. Perhaps you have seen us in Colorado.

Thanks for finally letting me intoduce myself.

Peace.

LAWL, i didn't even notice that at first.

i didn't really get into the whole EDM thing until around 2001/2002. I remember Magik 4 was one of the first things i heard.

actually, i take that back, trance [] control was the first stuff i listened too back in 00/01 and then it spun up from there.

well ive been into house forever...i think daft punk got me into it at first. as for trance, my friend was listening to in my memory one day and i loved it so i downloaded all of the songs off it lol and then i just kept exploring more and more trance :toothless

My post-formal party, a single orange batman and 4 & 1/2 hours of dancing. Woke up the next morning and asked what the hell the music that was playing the night before was, downloaded some Cosmic Gate and went from there. I'd listened to a little EDM before, but I'd never really been exposed to anything good, and it wasn't until that night that I really got into actually dancing when I went out.

Lol, i think he speaks the truth. I don't why, but i got this twisted thought about what the kid names would have been if he was a black/death metal fan.

"Hello, let me introduce you to our three lovely boys...emperor, immortal and satyricon. Oh, and here , out two dogs, morbid angel and dimmu borgir."

Why not just get a picture of Ferry Corsten tattooed on your forehead?
