What's the deal with Avalon/Limelight?

I'm new in town and a couple of my friends and I were thinking of heading over to Avalon tonight (Friday). But I'm not sure if it's worth going or if it's still even open (their website is down and I can't find any info anywhere). Any suggestions? Also, we're all under 21 right now, so if Avalon is out, are there any other suggestions? Thanks.

I am pretty sure they are closed. Even if they're not, you really don't want to go there. Check our Pacha or Crobar if you want to hit up a big club.

Def. Pacha tonight, boys ;)

Sander, Markus, Second Sun (yea on SS) but should be good.

Skip Avalon - it's horrendous. They planned on closing a few months ago and no one's heard anything about it since. Pacha and Crobar are usually 18+ on Friday nights. Check their websites: http://www.crobar.com/ http://www.pachanyc.com/index.html

Have fun in NYC!

Avalon's been open, I'm pretty sure... the extent of the quality of their events, however, is another matter hahaha but I was in the area the other week and sure enough, there was a huge line wrapping all the way around the corner for the hip hop party

I'm pretty sure that Crobar is strictly 21 and over now due to underage drinking. :(

The PVD event was changed from 18 to 21

It will be. They would still have to demolish and build, and that would take a while.
