Vardran debuts on Anjunabeats with a cracking tech-trance number.
This release is significantly techier and darker than the usual Anjuna fare and this is definitely not a bad thing!
Original Mix - Super funky tech-trance with a hint of tech-house akin to some of SVD's earlier stuff on Oxygen. Excellent! - 8/10
Vardran's Chunky Funky Mix - This is the Vardran style that most listener's will recognize ; thick, pounding bassline, crisp percussion and a growling sub-bass all touched up with clever fx.
The breakdown is so 'out there' . It's like a long lost mystery aching to be discovered and it takes you on this interesting trip. I'm loving this breakdown, it's so innovative shying away from the usual 2 minute uplifting torture that you have to endure when hearing a run-of-the-mill track.
The breaks section also spices things up before the bassline takes control again. Awesome, awesome stuff. - 9/10
This release is such a pleasant surprise from Anjunabeats!
Expect to hear this in a variety of sets.

are these mixes definitely labelled up right? because the 'chunky funky mix' sounds more like vardran's normal style & the 'original' sounds alot more chunky & funky :p
i like both either way. the sassot remix doesn't have as much of a solid groove to it i can't help thinking |
