| Dutch trance DJ and dedicated businessman, Tiesto, has recently collaborated with software giant Microsoft on a new appliacation that takes the full advantage of Microsoft's recently launched Windows Vista operating system. The application, which will easily integrate onto your Vista desktop apparently allows to stay up-to-date with the latest Tiesto news in both an innovative and interactive way, as well as follow him on tour in a dynamic surrounding. You can also listen to the music and watch the videos in your own virtual DJ booth. People who have already installed Vista OS on their computers can download the application for free on tiesto.com. All we can say is that his is a very smart PR stunt from both Tiesto and Microsoft. But the question remains unanswered: how much he got paid for this? According to CNN, the software giant is apparently spending USD $500 million on Vista marketing campaign. What about Reebok? |

| I don't know if it's even confirmed Tiesto worked with Microsoft to do it...I mean his management could have just saw an opportunity to get a head start on a new technology. Unless everyone that makes a Gadget automatically got paid by Microsoft to do it :) |

Actually for me, it's great. Performs much better than XP, looks good. Haven't had any compatibility problems...only problem is the ATI Catalyst and X-Fi drivers are a bit early. Still can do everything I could before with them, but not as fast or faster yet. |

Yeah that was my main gripe with it was that it uses more resources than XP, just to look more like OS X. If I wanted a mac, I'd buy one. (I do and I will):D |

| So Microsoft is teaming up with Tiesto to attack the P2P market that is hot and heavy amongst EDM listeners. EDM listeners now have a reason to upgrade...am I right? VISTA has anti P2P loopholes doesnt it, unless of course it goes through VISTA's checks and balances. |

| vista is great overall, but it has that thing about "geniune contract" or whatever its called. gotta admit its smart in a way so people dont steal their products. hate it or love it, microsofts a great company and a great product, but some people will always bitch about it. now that others are getting into microsofts game, microsoft is also doing robotics. |

I have no idea what you are talking about...are you saying Vista has anti-P2P stuff built in or something? |

vista has some of the most intrusive DRM (digital rights management) technology integrated into it that has ever been written.....to the point of being borderline illegal. It's not just anti-P2P, it's anti-fair use of things you legitimately own.
I will NEVER voluntarily install Vista on any system of mine, at least not in the next few years. Until applications really NEED DirectX 10, there's no reason to "upgrade." |
