when i drop by in here some times, i see that some of you have made remixes of well known tunes.
since i've just started learning reason, i was wondering, where do you get the original samples of the songs ?
or how do you actually make the remixes of them?
im completly new to this, so any help would be appreciated ;)

well, I think most of the remixes here haven't got many original samples in them. I think you have to be a well known professional remixer to get hold of them. Of course you can try to use a wave editor to rip out parts you want from songs, but usually that's pretty useless since there are a lot of sounds going on at once :)
There are some sites where you can get accapellas and stuff from well-known songs, like www.stormtronic.co.uk/loopfish/frameNew.htm
When it comes to melodies, I think most people here just figure out them themselves, or get midi files with them. Personally I haven't remixed any famous tunes yet, because I'm not very good at figuring out melodies :( (can anybody help me with the melody to Push - Tranzy state of mind, or any Plastic Boy tunes?) |
