| Just bought the Sony MDR 7506 for DJing and will definetely end up using them at least a little bit for production. Slightly harsher Highs than I'm used to, but it will be good combined with my Events which have sliightly less defined Highs. |

| I just picked up some AKG K240S's and they are so good. £80UKP at the moment. A lot of people were raving about them a month ago on here, so I went and got a pair. Well worth it. |

My K240s could not handle being pushed too hard. I mean, it's MY FAULT I had my headphone bus up extremely loud when I blew out my left driver. But still... not super durable, so if you get a pair, baby them. I'm probably being redunt here, but whatever; better to cover all the bases. |

Well they are monitoring headphones, not DJing headphones. You really shouldn't have them up too loud, ever... :tongue2 |

You shouldn't use an amplified signal with the AKG k240S.
It was designed to be connected directly into a soundcard, without amplification.
They had a k240M version that had higher impedance, but they discontinued that. |

Thanks for the new info, Sherlock.
But I should have specified. They were plugged in directly into my MOTU 2408 MkI. I was not DJ-ing with them (it would be pointless since they're open back headphones). However, I did have the volume up loud and then I inserted a new VSTi and it was up REALLY loud by default and then BAM. Sad times for my 240s.
My 750s are better anyway :) |
