I'd rather someone confront me face to face rather than ignore the problem.

Or you just avoid having the problem by setting clear boundaries in your relationship from the start.

Sometimes people act the way they do in a relationship because there are much larger problems at hand - they do incessant annoying things in order to get attention - sometimes they aren't even aware of it either. Ignoring the issue by being silent is one of the worst possible things you can do because you just put off the bull until a later date and you can risk ruining a number of things.

Life is always a system of payments - you either pay now or pay later.

the problem is you never know what youre gonna get into with someone and certain things dont apply to everyone. i know from past experiences what i want and dont want but thats not enough to avoid every problem

i guess its all part of relationships and working through it is key but its a royal pain in the ass at the moment

you think I should avoid being friends with desperate girls who at the slighest friendly gesture I make for them start to think I am interested in them?

Doesn't everybody say that, though? :p

[Not a dig at you in particular.]

Yeah but the difference between me and most people is that I'm not full of .

I think my happy, successful 9 year relationship speaks for itself. :)

As I don't know the details of this particular situation, I can't say much more. Of course you have to try to resolve it, but if she's just shooting a bunch of bull your way and not hearing you out, then you can't let that you up man.

6 to 8 girls in this group of friends .... 3 to 4 which are desperate ... 1 or 2 that I'd bang ...

I need to put these odds into practice :p

I'm just a little put off with the 30 year old thing ... ( I'll be 25 in may ) ... not because she's 30 but because she wants commitment (I don't mind that )and husband material ( I feel like I can't step into that territory just yet )

Why gunk things up with marriage?

Just stay together as long as it's good.
