| I'm off to Cancun in 12 days. I won't say that the recent events haven't made me potentially more cautious than I would have been without any of this going on. Having said that, I still feel it is a safe place to travel to. My mind is telling me that this is the media flavour of the month(s). As soon as there is a good breaking news story, we'll never hear another thing about Mexico again. |

Last December, went to the Riu Cancun (I think the one you linked was the Riu Palace). It's definitely a little bit nicer, but I really didn't notice much of a difference. They are next door to each other basically. |
