| I'm in the market for some starting DJ equipment (current I only have Traktor on my pc) but I'm on a a low budget. I don't know much about DJ products and quality, but this caught my eye because it has 2 CD players AND a mixer, for 200US. Anyone know anything about it? |

if you skimp and buy cheap stuff, you'll just be buying it again in 6 months |

| But the thing is that I'm only just getting into DJing, and even if I had several hundred more to spend on quality gear, I'd have trouble justifying it for a beginner such as myself. |

try cdj-100 used. I saw them on ebay for about 140 usd each. A little more than what you were aiming to pay but worth it for a beginner dj.
not sure about mixers maybe someone else can give you a good suggestion |

| If your already practising mixes with software then their is no need to waist any money on gear that will die on you. |

| I would really just like to be able to mix with some actual hardware. I got Traktor for free from a friend who didn't want it, so it's not as if I invested a great deal of money into the program or anything. Among other things, having my own cdj's would allow me to mix at school events, which pay fairly decently. I'm not at all devoted to the Gem I talked about earlier, but I would like to get 2 decent cdj's and a mixer, preferably all for under $500. If you have any suggestions for products, that'd be much appreciated. |

go ahead and get the gemsound or other cheap crap
then when it breaks in a couple of months and you come back here crying about how the cheap gear you bought broke right away i can tell you i told you so
i went the cheap gear route and i regretted it to this day because my gear lasted 6 months
i'm speaking from a lot of experience
suck it up, save your money and buy something that will last you |

| Usually, the resale value on quality gear is pretty high. So if you end up buying, lets just say CDJ 200s, and lets say you bought them used, you'll be able to resell them for almost the same price. If you buy gear you aren't gonna be able to make any of your money back. What I did when I was first getting into DJing is buy a pair of CDJ 100s off of a TA here for $300. He lived close to me so he even came and dropped them off at my house. After about 5 months I bought myself 2 CDJ 1000 MK3s and sold my CDJ 100s for $350 on eBay. So in the end, I made a PROFIT. And those little units were great to learn on. If your gonna buy, buy quality. |
