Yes, but its old stuff from an era he probably never listened too.

If one is looking for the dreamy melodic sound of floyd and genesis one should avoid ELP imo, they're too much a circus.

Hmmm, maybe they are to "epic" you are right...they have some nice dreamy passages. Moody Blues are just right though. they sound a lot like Floyd's early releases like "A Saucerfull of Secrets" and "Meddle". They had an amazing album called "In Search for the Lost Chord" if i remember. Quite "hippy" sounding at times though...lol...

cd's

Coldplay - Parachutes
Coldplay - A rush of blood to the head

some stuff from Explosions in the sky, it's an instrumental band. I like Your Hand In Mine.

daivd bowie, simply red, depeche mode (although theyre not EDM they are an electronic rock band), some marylin manson (in perticular his Mechanical Animals album), placebo, seal, the smiths, sting, tears for fears, some U2 (achtung baby & joshua tree), stereo mc's (alot of their stuff is housy but its pretty much hip hop), and rage against the machine

tried to keep it diverse but theres loads and loads more. explore and find what fits your taste.

I thought that he asked for "intelligent" "non-poppy" music, not for "general good music". Oh and Marilyn Manson is not good music...

But its all a matter of taste in the end.;)
