| I like to believe I will never again date anyone (Jamie excluded of course), however, if I were to find out someone I was dating were a virgin I would have mixed feelings about it. At my age still being a virgin can only be the result of lack of opportunity, physical inability, or choice. Assuming I wouldn't be dating someone who were a virgin due to the first two reasons then I'd have to give pause to reflect on the third. If this person had chosen not to have sex, ie. save herself for marriage, then I would certainly commend her decision and will power. At the same time, however, I would feel some immence pressure as should she chose to lose her virginity to me I think I would have a duty to make it as special as possible to her. Additionally, if she were saving herself for the right person/marriage I would likely encourage her to continue saving herself until she was absolutely sure. This would necessitate me being willing to forego my own desires, which is something I am neither used to nor very good at. Ultimately, I think that I would be a poor choice of mate for someone with such conviction and moral fibre. I would not rule out a relationship, however, it would certainly complicate things and likely stack the deck against it. |
