Dont take this the wrong way but, your an . You didnt have to work the next day, and you still called the cops.
For one, you decided to be a punk and chose the passive agressive way of dealing with things and called a 3rd party to deal with it. When you could have gone over and talked to them and asked them to tone it down (which isn't unreasonable).
I'm in college, and whenever I(or my friends) throw a party, we're always considerate of our neighbors. If they ever have a problem, they call us or come over and let us know (the civil way), instead of being an ass and calling the cops.
Yea call me a dumbass college kid who doesn't know what the real world, or having a real job is like. But I'll be graduating in may and will have a real job in this real world, so that line won't cut it anymore.
I apologize for talkin down to you but I can't stand people who do things just because they can. And yes I see the other side to this coin, the kids partying because they can, disrupting your life (and others probably). But really, are they causing that much trouble for you? Take some nyquil and get some rest. The kids wont be young for that long. And eventually, they'll see what it's like to be in your shoes.
Ok end of rant.

| meh, i've called the cops too. I have a baby and she sleeps at all hours of the day/night as do i. You can have fun inside your house and have your music at a decent level without me having to listen to your bass line and especially wake up my kid. I go out of my way to be considerate to others, so in return, when people aren't considerate to me i have a hard time turning the other cheek. |

Having a baby is one thing, on the other hand if you just have to tolerate some bass for awhile, not the end of the world. If that bass continues past 1 in the morning, then they deserve a visit from the police but this wasn't the case in Orbax's situation.
Technically he was right in what he did, at 10 or 11 at night you shouldn't be blasting your music. Still though, unless you got a kid or have to be up early in the morning, just let the kids have fun. |

Agreed, that was not cool at all...
Karma is a bitch and what comes around goes around.
I have a job, I also have children. I live in the "ghetto" in a city in which nobody has "regular" hours. Which means that at any given mid-week night, I have the potential to get pummelled by party music at bizarre hours through the night.
But I'm also a dj and a person who enjoys heavy, bass-oriented music. Which means that sometimes, I feel the urge to drop some tracks at a high volume. And since the people I associate with also like the same type of music, it's not uncommon for us to gather and listen to this music collectively (and loudly, sometimes).
Now, I try to be considerate of others. But there are times when you just miss the mark. You've had a few drinks or you're just really into your groove. I would get pissed if out of the middle of my happy place, the fuzz shows up at the door.
How hard is it to knock on your neighbor's door to ask them to turn it down? Chances are they'll turn it down. If they don't and disregard you, then it's time to pull the po-po card. But I would at least give them the benefit of the doubt of turning it down first.
What you did was uncool and from the sounds of it, you don't care. So arguing it any is pointless. Just remember your actions that night the next time you're partying with friends and the cops come busting in and shutting it down. |
