Bears no resembelance in appearance to what I would call chavs, like this for example:
They all dress in flamboyantly coloured tracksuits, hiking jackets and striped sweaters. Lacoste is by far their favourite brand. I don't think there really is a direct American equivalent. I've always considered white trailer trash to be the closest. |

Abusing the benefits system by claiming "unfit to work" due to depression, injuries etc and of course with petty crime. A lot of the clothes they wear are probably cheap knock offs, although they're probably stupid enough to blow a £300 monthly payement all on a Berghaus hiking jacket. |
