2000, I was 14 and a freshman in High School. Flyers were going around about this awesome party at some abandoned building.
Attended that and was blown away by the entire scene. Went home and starting whoring the out of napster on my 56k modem. Basically just searched the term "trance" and downloaded whatever came up. The name Paul Oakenfold came up a lot, thought I'd do some research about him.

Must have been '98 for me just started working and worked in music department in woolworths, although it was all dance music to me then...but hearing Albion-Air i was hooked, not long after gems like Humate-Love Stimulation, Ayla-Ayla came about, not forgetting Der Dritte Raum - Hale Bopp and a classic for me indeed P.O.B. - Boiler (Humate remix)...
...im sure ive always had a soft spot for Platipus thereafter, although thats no bad thing! |

all prods by Torsten Fenslau, the early Dance 2 Trance, DJ Dag, Jam & Spoon, Sven Väth etc... were the first thing who get me into trance.
Without forgetting the label BONZAI RECORDS !!! |

| I'd probably say it was around 96ish, I was 14/15, I'd been into dance music since owning Prodigy's Music for the Jilted Generation when I was 10! But moved into trance around the time of Chicane - Offshore, classic! |

After have been listening to various electronic acts throughout the 80s (Kraftwerk, Jean-Michell Jarre, various other synthersizer greats + some more mainstream dance acts) I encountered a couple of acid house and techno-ish tracks in the end of the 80s beginning of the 90s.
In '93 I experienced X-Mix 1 - The MFS Trip CD compilation, Trance Master 4 plus my first raves (with help from my friends of course). This together when I first heard Jones & Stephenson's First Rebirth in late '93 I knew I would always love this music. |

| A CD that my brother randomly bought, Tranceport mixed by Paul Oakenfold... There needs to be more stuff like the songs on that mix. |

| Went to some raves in 99'-01' and got even more into it when I had a listen to some friend's cd's which were Oakenfold - Tranceport, Gatecrasher Red and Discotech. |
