And yet the ignorance of elitism flourishes.
Who's to say that I haven't been on here for years and have changed my identity? Who's to say that just because I may be new here, that I haven't been "answering the same questions" for almost two decades in other scenarios (like real-life for instance)? I'm sorry that your viewpoint of validity lies in a post-count number. It's that kind of closed mindedness that discourages newbies to make new music and thus continually evolve it overall. |

I don't think he judges by your number of posts or anything...if you'd have been here for 5 years, you would just behave totally differently... |

And I'm saying that that is a completely generalized and false statement.
I've been involved with edm music for 15 years. There's not too many questions that I haven't been asked. I produce music for a living (for different ventures, not just dance music). I've thrown (or been involved with) more parties, clubnights, and raves than I can count. I've been around the block enough to warrant people seeking me for advice.
I've answered alot of questions over the years via websites, mentoring, and even just from generally curious people. So "hanging out here about 5 years" will really not make much of a difference towards my attitude. If I can't answer a question of feel it's redundant, I refer them to the answer.
Being an over a no0b question is weak. If you don't want to answer, then don't. Let somebody else who doesn't mind helping others and evolve the music answer. Sometimes, having them research thier own answer is best. But being a jerk about does nothing. |

And thus one replies:
You're answer is here *insert the sticky". Otherwise let them figure it out on thier own.
Why do they deserve to be made fun of? Does it make you feel superior to them? Does it boost your ego a notch knowing that you know more than somebody else? Personally, I find it a waste and it's destructive to the music as a whole. |

you may find it destructive...
but i find it entertaining...i come here to be entertained, i give out a helping hand where i can, but for the most part i like to have a good time and ridicule people where i find it appropriate.
does it boost my ego? i dunno, does it? maybe it does, but that's not why i do what i do. answering a question appropriatly without making fun of the person boosts ego as well the way i see it. it makes you feel good about yourself when you help someone out.
but whatever. |

| I'd love to be knowledgeable enough to help others here, hopefully someday I will be. |

I help out when I can, and also seek help when I need it.
Flaming and attacking noobs just for the fun of it, so that you can feed your own ego makes you an , plain and simple. If you're sick of the questions then just ignore them or link to the answer. Ok fair enough, I admit that you do sometimes get completely stupid questions, but most of the time I see people flaming a noob for a perfectly valid question. It's not very nice, nor does it help anyone. |
