[Review] John 00 Fleming @ Sullivan Room

Wow, no review yet?
Had a blast last night. More because of the people and the place than the music, but it doesn't really matter I suppose. Can't say John blew me away, but it was a lot of fun. He went on at around 2:30?, I wasn't seriously grooving until the end 4-5am. I must say it was a nice change from the anthemic candy trance I've been seeing lately. And unless i missed it when I was in the bathroom, he didn't play Rasa Lisa which was requested twice, boo hoo. If anyone did hear it, correct me please. Did anyone else hear Siouxsie and the Banshees?
There was some good stuff from some of the openers, but I don't know who's who so can't speak to anything more specific, sorry.
I'm a newbie to Sullivan Room, what a great venue. Cozy, interesting design, good size. And I'm so not used to the staff at a club treating you like they would their neighbor. Such a nice change. Good crowd too. |

Agreed. Nice space, very intimate. Good crowd. Really wanted to stay late but I lost all my energy around 3:30am. At least I got to hear about an hour of J00F's set. Great energy, loved Vertigo (that got the crowd going!). $8 drinks were a nice change from Crobar but they were really weak which was disappointing. All in all a fun night out but nothing earth shattering. |

| The new sully is awesome. Great job with the renovations. Had a great time breaking in the system for sure. Mike and Deepspell threw down proper, and joof was sick, as well as a really nice dude. Thanks to everyone who came out. Looking forward to the next time! |

The rear wall where the seats used to be was knocked down to have a mini second level for reserved seats.
Paintings on the walls.
More room on the dancefloor. Before it was a congested and it was hard to maneuver through the crowd to get to the bar/bathroom.
More speakers. Last night, they only used like 2 or 3 speakers out of the 8-10 they had there. And most of the subwoofers were off.
DJ booth area has changed.
Lounge room near the booth and entrance increased in size.
Bathrooms changed.
They said there was this full private women's lounge, but I didn't see that. That also seemed to have been another change as well. |

WTF was up with the stank out on the dance floor??? Can we all try to bathe before we go next time! hahahahaha:stongue: Deepspell was not so great. Sorry but they really sucked. I am still in recovery. I had a store meeting tonight at work and It sucked sooooooo bad. All I could think about was JOOF!!!! HA GREAT IN NIGHT!!! Thanks again Mike D.!!!
It was great seeing all the Ta's again!!! Mike from Massive....I will be waiting for MAY!!! Big Mike babe....I Freakin LOVE you!!!!! Brain extra special kisses for you!!!
