| Not trying to put you down, but DJ worship will lead to the "Tiestoization" of our scene... The Dj is an artist, not a pop icon, and he should not be treated like one. If you want you favorite Djs to keep putting out good Underground beats you gotta keep em underground! |

Oh for the love of God I hope not!
One of the best parts of the EDM/Club scene is that it is still fairly underground and not entirely in the mainstream, which means it still retains a certain amount of originality and quality.
Just imagine how ed it would be if the music we love is all of a sudden the next fad, and played to the point where people like it only because people tell them to and not because people honestly love the music. tourists! |

i think its already happened dude....over a year ago ask anyone if they like listen to house music they'll look at you like ur a crazy person. now EVERYONE listens to house |

Ye i think most mainstream clubs play house now as well.. people just dont go nuts to it, they chill and socialize.. and drink
In the afterhour clubs we go nuts till 7 am..

Being from the Bronx, and going to school in Buffalo, I rarely run into other people who actually listen to House on a regular basis. Toronto is different, all my friends up there listen to it, but then again, I know all of my friends in Toronto because of the clubs.
I still believe that EDM is underground. Think about it, people are lazy. Very lazy, and sheepish. That is why people put on the radio and TV and listen to what is broadcasted. To get into EDM you have to go to the clubs, to the point where you can recodnize the tracks, find out the track names, learn about the DJs and producers, learn about the sub-categories, and actively seek out acquiring the tracks. Most everyday people will not do this. |
