05 - this perceptive duo soon went on to abandon their psy roots & became renowned for burning candles at both ends
08 - if you can find the beginning of movie quote this tune samples, your title should be right there
16 - taken from what is probably one of the most popular trance artist albums of all time. this act also had a much bigger hit with a very similar hook..
28 - this artist is probably more well known for their skydiving antics
31 - intuition's resident belgian goes journeying
42 - tune about bright shining heavenly objects gets a rather sharp remix
50 - financers of the haçienda get a remix from son kite's occasional badminton opponents
51 - "remember these moments..."
54 - tune bearing resemblance to the irish republican army gets some treatment from one of the resistance d guys
55 - cover of a well known u2 tune under a different name, remixed for the 2006 re-issue
60 - these guys had more than one of their tunes (including this one) remixed by oakey

also.. it has come to my attention that i have the wrong artist information for the track in sample 50, so the hint may be misleading. however, groundline & montana have managed to correctly identify the proper artist regardless of this, so it should be doable. i've done some research into the tune and it appears what i thought was the artist, is actually part of the title. so it goes something like [real artist] - [artist in hint] - [title] (remix). confusing? i think so! and i'm not talking dodgy mp3s either, it's labelled like this in download stores..
i think it's only fair i except both artists as the right answer seeing as i've gone & misled people

and so, the final scores. as with my last contest, cobalt steals a win.. but not without a fierce battle in the final stages. i can't help but feel sorry for subtle, having putting in hours of effort into digging only to be beaten by cobalt's single-ID submission just 15 minutes before the deadline. nevertheless he still manages to walk away with a convincing unique IDs title...

I could have sworn Subtle did one, but even if he did, I've done three. He can run the next one.
Given that he had twice as many uniques, and that there was such a close margin on ID points (many of which I got only through hints), I don't really feel I can "claim victory" here. |

I participated for the first time in your contest (ID40)
But you won by three points, and the rules are simple.
It would be fun to do the next one, but I really dont feel ive won this one. :(

Well, I didn't "win" in order to run the first two contests I ran. I was second both times. The first time, the frontrunner was banned over the course of the contest, and the second, the top finisher let me run the next one. It wasn't until the third time that I actually won a contest in order to run the next one.
Also, from a purely practical standpoint, I don't have tons of time right now to do one, even though I'd like to. :)
