Not really. Yeah it wasn't originally meant to be a dance tune, but there are lots of tracks that are remixed into dance tunes, and sometimes..the dance version is better than the original. I love Sarah McLachlan's voice, but the original version of "Silence" is nothing exciting. Tiesto put some excitement into it, not just some dreary, dark and somewhat depressing original. Lots of Sarah McLachlan tunes and Delerium tunes, that weren't meant to be dance tunes..were turned into them, and IMO some are better than their originals. |

| ok maybe it doesn't do it for everyone. so heres a better version of the question. what was the first amazing trance tune that you heard in a club whilst wrecked, hense instantly falling in love with it |

Tiesto remix is cool.. heard it first time on Magik 6. Works well on the floor too, but nothing to die for.
The Michael Woods remix really does it for me. |

it's a proper trance track, it's not supposed to climax like an overblown epic track, it's subtle, the build is subtle, the progression is subtle, it stays true to the original which is quite subtle aswell.
that being said, i do enjoy tijs remix aswell, but the original & sanctuary remix blows it out of the water |

| You people must be out of your minds. The Tiesto remix ing rocks! I'm not a big fan of Tiesto productions but this is one of his best along with Suburban Train. |

I think that people who heard Tiesto remix long before Fade's don't really find anything exciting in Sanctuary mix.
But for people (like me) who heard Fade's version two years before Tiesto's, and who like that type of trance, Fade's remix is just much better.
But I would also choose Original over any remix anytime |

| It's easier to compare Airscape's remix with Tiestos remix since both are more epic and uptempo. However you can grow tired of both of them. But Fades remix is something you can return to several years later and still fully enjoy. A wonderful remix. It's so good that it could do very well without the vocals. |

If anything, I'd say the reason is gets so much attention is because it's nothing like Tiesto's mix. Tiesto's mix stands for three things that are now getting a huge backlash on TA:
1. Huge popularity.
2. Epic trance.
3. Tiesto.
Fade's mix is older, it's more "proper", it's less well known and it isn't by a mega-star producer we all love to hate. Part of it is over-familiarity, part of it is agenda-pushing and part of it is simple snobbery. Of course, there are also the people who just plain prefer Fade's mix.
As far as I'm concerned, the Airscape mix is the best and you all. |
