aim for the pioneer cdj-200's
they're reasonable in price and will last you for a long time |

for the price you would pay for a cdj200, you could get a c.314 with much MUCH more flexibility in terms of a CDJ. But I've never been a fan of the CDJ-200, and with the c.314 you dont have to deal with the crap stutter que that you have to on the cdj200's...but it all depends on what you plan on doing with DJing. I have a pair of cdj1000s and have played with all mentioned above, i think the cdj200 is a solid piece, but i wouldn't even think about spending 3 to 400 bucks on one.
But to answer your question, ive never played on the 303, just the 314 and i thought it was pretty cool :) |

im actually compareing the 314, denon dns 1000 and the pioneer cdj 200
so far iv heard the 314s have a lot of bang for the buck but reliability isnt that great compared to the pioneer. the denons iv heard can skip if the music is turned really loud. i was all up for the 314s but i think im gonna go with the pios cause even if i spend a little more money now it'll be worth it cause it'll last my a hell of a lot longer than the stantons |

sometimes i wonder if i type in some unknown language...
speaking from almost a decade of experience, go with the pioneers, they're a proven industry workhorse no matter what model you get
they take a beating and work how you'd expect them to
stanton has a long rep for making inferior products that don't stand up to the rigors of use
same with gemini and behringer
no, i don't work for pioneer, i've just used their gear for a long time and know they work |

Thanks for the replies guys. I apprecitate it. Thanks for the other choices.
Idk if i want to pour 200 more into new cd players. It would be cool to get those pioneers or the 314's, but i could save the 200 and just get the 303s. I personally like stanton, I've never had a problem with them. I think now its down to getting some money... :thepirate |

I have owned 2 c314's since October, no problems whatsoever. I would recommend them. The pitch accuracy isn't as great as it is on the cdj200's, that just means you have to pay attention a little bit more. |

i JUST used the c314's last night. imo they're excellent beginner decks. the vinyl mode is perfect, almost as good as the cdj800/1000s. the only gripe i have with them is that the pitch slider is kind of crappy (very loose feeling) and the effects, while nice, is a bitch to use if you want to manually control them (you have to push and hold a knob down while you spin it to control which direction the filter goes, for example). also the pitch bend buttons (which the pio's don't have) are a little less responsive than the denon's, but they're still functional. the decks i spinned on were about a year old and there were absolutely no problems.
don't listen to the pioneer whores, go with what you can afford. if you can deal with .1% pitch and want excellent looping and vinyl mode, buy these decks. |
