Not in the least, I just understand that half the people who write reviews:
- Don't care about story.
- Are similar to the so-called "elitists" here and really can't have much fun with a game that isn't flawless.
All I said is that I understand is why those reviews are coming up, not that I agree with them. |

So here's the deal - I'm about halfway through the game, and the best way I can summarize it is God of War with Star Wars clothing.
It has what I think is an incredible degree of polish, and a pretty good story from a SW fans point of view as well, but there is absolutely nothing original about the gameplay itself - it's an amalgamation of some of the best that platformers, FPS, and third person action games have offered the last ten years, but doesn't necessarily bring anything to the table that's all together new other than the story.
Still saying 8 so far... we'll see what I say when I'm done with it. |

hmmm. maybe console reviewers. but most PC games reviews i read are on the money, more or less. but youre right, im an elitist and i dont play games that score only 7s.

| playing the game as we speak, seeing the same things as RJT. Story is very good so far, so I know I will prolly enjoy this game for story alone. I have one week to play this game and return for full store credit at EB games lol. |

Yeah, I don't bother reading PC game reviews, as I don't particularly care for real time strategy, the FPS du jour, or ports of games I finished a year or two ago. ;)
Console reviewers are full of 99% of the time. |

Welp, I'm on the last level. It's quite cool.
Will say already that the story in this beats all three of the prequel movies, hands down, and is maybe one of the more compelling expanded universe storylines I have ever seen regardless of medium.
So far the experience, in terms of Star Wars games, is right up there with KOTOR, JK 1 & 2, and Shadows of the Empire (one of my all time favorite games and SW stories). |

That was absolutely ing terrific. Money well spent, and after finishing it the first time through I'm inclined to bump my 8 to a 9. The story is as good, if not better, than that of any of the movies - the level design was probably my biggest gripe, but that's just because two planets were re-used. The final level was epic, and both of the final boss battles were quite fun.
I don't know - I still get why some folks are giving this lower ratings, but honestly it was exactly what I had expected as far as gameplay, and much, much more in terms of story and cut scenes. Much like Sam and Metal Gear, for me a lot of times this game might have been more fun to watch than it was to play.
All in all highly recommended for any Star Wars fan. Fills out an awesome part of the story canon and, at least for me, put a totally different perspective on the whole SW universe.

Shame everyone else' opinion is how you decide what games are good or bad.
And here I was believing you could think for yourself. Silly me.
PS: "Everyone" actually seems to have pretty mixed opinions here, champ.

no, i decide whether i'd like a game based on videos and reviews. i have a spectacularly good history of picking out awesome games for me to enjoy.

if you refer to earlier in this thread, im pretty sure i stated that i thought the game looked average, well before any review.
yeah, they're "mixed" about whether its average, bad or really bad.
console 3d person action games suck. so im not surprised to see this turn into a first-rate stinker! of course it might be awesome and im missing out, but since its not making it to PC anyway its moot. |

It isn't as if there's really any point debating it - because frankly, we both already know how low my opinion of the games and music you like is, and little is going to change that.
I'm sorry you don't enjoy console games and enjoy little more than ting on them every chance you get. I'm also sorry I don't reciprocate the attention you seem to enjoy paying me in every Supreme Commander or whatever the devil e FPS game thread you made this week is.
But hey, at least this never gets old, right? That's something right there.
