Well it isnt really growing within its own perspective, it is acquiring too much influence from growing fads that are going nowhere but the gutter in my opinion...
But trance isnt the only genre of electronic music, I would actually think of it as (in its current state) the most bland and ordinary, straight forward and most predictable form of electronic music. Which in many cases now is watered down and generic mixture of many styles of other electronic music, meaning it isnt really true to its own genre.
