Just got back from a meeting with the people organizing this Parade & Festival. Very nice, creative & open minded people behind this project and I feel it will be a huge success.
"In addition to securing Fifth Avenue as the Official Parade route of the first ever dance parade of this scope and scale in the US, we have had successful meetings with the City's Parks Department who have approved us having 4 to 5 performance stages in Washington Square Park!"
The only way for you to walk/party/dance inside the parade is for you to signup as an individual on the website and or the day of the event in person at our start location (they must enforce this rule due to insurance reasons). So please if you would like to be involved as an individual party person please sign up via danceparade.org I'd appreciate it if you can support my group by signing with - Tribal : Dance4HumanRights.Org. Although we are under the Tribal Category we will be feautring djs that play House, Techno & Trance (TBA) with an emphasis on tribal sounds. This does not bind you to our Float, or Stage you can walk freely to check out all the other djs & performers to your liking.
Both the Parade & The Festival will be FREE of charge including refreshments. The parade will end on Washington Square Park @ 4PM where the Festival begins with a Mainstage featuring Moby, Danny Tenaglia, Paul Oakenfold & Peter Munch (TBC). We wan't to promote the diverse dance communities in NYC, show your support for our community the EDM force !
