maybe this was common knowledge & I've been clueless, but WOW

I don't even think it's that big of a deal. Hip hop producers did it all the time.

true, but this isn't hip hop.

this is new news to me by the way...

a part of me is dissappointed because i thought they were really innovative in terms of coming up with catchy hooks and such.

but another part of me is impressed because that's some good sampling.

I knew they used samples, but not this extensively. Pretty stunning.

same, but I'd also never heard any of them...just knew they did it...but not an entire hook :wtf:

'Release the Beast' was the biggest  one, I think...just wow.

didnt know da funk was sampled :wtf:

Some of that is a BIG stretch. Face to Face sampling Evil Woman, Da Funk sampling Get It Up For Love, The Rec Room, Who's Been Sleeping in my Bed? Most of them don't even sound similar, maybe similar instruments but not even close to the same arrangements.

true, but the first three are exactly the same (Release the Beast, Cola Bottle Baby, Can You Imagine).

I knew they sampled some stuff (like most of those...nothing really surprising there...some sounds here & there) but didn't know they'd taken huge chunks out of anything.

Oh I agree 100% on these, but some are a definite stretch.

it's a given they're still genies for pulling out the they did. face to face is a prime example of mad sampling but with some genie in it. but that robot rock cut from release the beast is outright vanilla ice style. only daft just looped it over and over and threw some nasty vox over it.

still a bit of a shock..
