SNES emulators ftw.
i'd say get your hands on:
any Gradius game
STG: Strike Gunner (a personal fav)
then any other classic SNES game. Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Super Mario World, etc |

If you want a challenging sideshooter, get Super R-Type
I have never been able to beat this game. You'll see why. |

If you plan to play the FF's, 'd suggest downloading a GBA emulator, Final Fantasy 6 (SNES) for example is now new to the GBA console and has been remastered with new stuff (a new Dragon's den dungeon)
Other than that, Contra 3 is kickass :D |
