I would also like to see Gareth Emery brought to Toronto, he would definitely draw 400 people in my opinion

Yeah. Let's make realistic suggestions, right?
Not just who you want to see, but someone that will draw 400 ppl in a small club (and a limited budget) |
What suggestions are un-realistic? He said suggest who you would want to see and I don't see any names on these lists that wouldn't draw 400 people. There are more people then those on TA that attend events. |

I don't disagree with you (for the most part)
But there is also this budget thing too :p |

| For Trance you can't beat Orkidea or Menno de Jong. It would be a coup if you could book Chicane but thats very unlikely. |

Alot of you did not read the first post (realistic... and then you say Chicane, Sasha etc... wtf?) and second of all, Fluid is not the Docks or Guv. I can just imagine Simon Patterson or Joop coming and everyone complaining that the sound system wasn't good enough and that the music was just out of place. It's basically a Richmond street lounge with a dancefloor and a decent sound system, it's not even at System's level.
Some people I'd like to see there... KT, Kosmas Epsilon, Sultan/Tonedepth, Elevation, Terje Bakke, Simon & Shaker, Hydroid. |

Fluid isn't a lounge so much, it's a 2 room club that can fit about 700 people total. There's ample seating but when I think lounge I think of a place like Paeyezz.
I'm not sure when/if the last time you've been there was, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that system, in fact it pounds. I for one felt it was a little on the loud side last Sunday. I think they've beefed it up recently though.
Most djs suggested are very good ones, although I don't think Fluid is a proper venue for peaktime style trance like aly & fila or sean tyas. The ceilings are too low and I don't think the breakdowns will go over as well. But as long as we set the expectation that its an intimate club, not a grandiose venue like docks or guv, then people should be more than satisfied with the nights save for the regular people that find things to whine about. |

+1 to everything. There is nothing wrong with the club and no, it isn't a lounge but the lay out does make it seem 'loungy'. I guess it depends on who will be organizing the events because I don't expect it to the same as when I went to see Yahel.
Wish you guys all the best! |
