Tricked by a Sample?

Have you ever been fooled into purchasing a track because the sample was good, while the entire track was actually bad? :(
Lunar Phase 7
Yep.

Breakdown sounds nice at like 64kbs sample for 53 seconds.

You buy it and find it to be a piss weak trackt hat dont really do much.

Yup quite often I try to listen to a track on 3 or 4 sites now before buying. Sometimes the idiots put 50 seconds of build up & none of the main track :whip: It can be a minefield at times...
basd
No. I never buy something before I have heard the whole track.

The samples at Hard To Find Records are actually worse. I've got a pretty massive stack of tunes from them that I will never play cuz the whole tracks are so bad.

I am usually tricked by the samples not sounding good. Then hear the track in full version much later...and say damn...I passed on that track a while back.

this is too true too...

sometimes there's just this groove that you get into when listening to the whole track and hearing it build.

Can't say it's completely bad though, sometimes I use the records I'll never play as experiemental records, so I can with them and abuse them all I want with no worry.

Yes, all the time. Nowadays I cross-check samples on audiojelly/beatport/trackitdown. They usually have different bits of the same tracks.

RJT
I have, but it doesn't happen as often anymore.

If I can't hear the whole tune first, I crosscheck samples I'm questionable on - and only once or twice have I been completely fooled by a sample that sounded absolutely amazing turning out to be one of the worst tunes I've ever heard.

Ah well, sometimes you eat the bar, sometimes the bar eats you.
