I did.
I missed the first bus, and 1hr 45 was too long to wait, so i walked it.
3hrs. I saw the sunrise, it was fitting. |

Crowd was good--mostly. Everyone was pumped for Armin.
I expected a few more good tunes from Armin, though. I only liked 4 songs.
I wish that "whyyyyyyyy-yyyyyyyyyyyy whyyyyyyyyyy" song would die. |
Are you on da crack? He didn't play all the current trance hits and played some new stuff and a few classics. (Prodigy!) If I wanted to hear the hits, I could listen to that at home.
Newb! |

basically there are three options in ottawa for EDM
go to Club MTL (yes we have a club named after montreal) and listen to a different DJ every week play the same top 10 beatport tunes
go to Mercury Lounge and hear some gooooood deep house on a killer system, but party with all government workers
go to Heaven, dish out 25 bucks cover on a regular night, and party with a bunch of cracked out asians and ottawankers, listening to a ing annoying echo when you're on the dancefloor.
but thats just my opinion and that probably stems from the fact that:
a) im broke
b) im a hater
c) i miss montreal |

lol. I always thought Mercury Lounge peeps were more the psuedo hippy types :p
Heaven's free cover on a regular night if you print out the on-line coupons. It's $7 cover otherwise and $15-25 for a headliner.
Armin's an exception.. he cost so much he should be nicknamed Arminaleg Van Buuren ;) |

He means so much to me and its so painful to have to say goodbye after only a few hours. i was listening to the Daniel Khandi's Shiver Mix of "Love you more" and i had tears streaming down my face. i was like this last time Armin was here and i crash landed really baddly after that show. it means so much to me to interact wtih armin, those times when he looked at me., when he took my essay that i'd written about him for a uni course, reacted to the title page in surprise and flipped through it for a few secs, the times hen i got to touch his hand even just fora second and when i got to speak to him a few times, and his reaction when i mimiced spinning a record with both my hands and his response to that as well. it all just meant so mcuh to me that i don't think i'll ever recover from it. i'm not sure how to get through the first couple of weeks after this show. any one have any ideas?
Cheers from a heart broken Armin addict.

Theres a whole lot of complaining in this thread !!! I had fun, definitly worth $60 for me. The fact that I didnt have to drive to Toronto or MTL to see Armin, which I usually do, is worth the extra money.
I also got in a real argument in the washroom with some chick who was going on about how Tiesto is the # 1 DJ in DJmag, and how she saw him in Toronto last weeekend, so she should know. Tia was there for this, I was getting really mad. That was interesting, haha. Thats one thing I've noticed about Heaven, the washroom is never dull ! |
