eq is like the last thing i think about when working on master channel.

dont cut anything............worry more about the mixing.if the mixing is done right (which you already do rich) then you dont need to worry about cutting frequencies.....
Allied Nations
If your sub freqs are properly done you wont need to cut em cuz they are properly done.

see what im saying?

sub freqs are your friends

for you guys that listen to trance 24 hours a day on the internet.....go ahead and cut all the bass off the tracks.........for you guys that play clubs n stuff and want to physically move air with some bass..............dont....nothing worse then those 'high tech' producers that cut all the low off ...playing with them i always wonder why there songs move no air.......you just hear a click from thier kickdrum for all 2 hours of thier set haha...borrring..no life to thier tracks...................leave some bass. save the earth

SUB AUDIBLE FREQUENCIES- means... BELOW THE LIMIT A HUMAN CAN HEAR. That is at 20HZ ok, Frequencies below 50 are useless to you, NOT SUB FREQUENCIES AROUND 50-100HZ Range ok?

So when you roll off that you essentially STOP THE SPEAKER from trying to produce those frequencies, then it can focus on the other frequencies.

its not "cutting the bass from your music", and yes take a look at some loops or kicks with an analizer and see if they go down past 50hz mark. Making Elements fit in together is what mixing is in a nutshell.
DJ Sound
of course if you roll off everything below a certain point the speakers are not going to produce that sound. it doesnt take a genius to know that...and yes at that point it can 'focus' on the rest of the spectrum...how cute haha.you might gain a little headroom for your LOUD mix..but youll sacrafice some SUB frequencies that would be MOVING air physically. If you are listening to enya or something it will not matter much. But we make club music...it'll sound ok in your mom's ford festiva stock stereo. But in a club its boring as hell....

maybe buy a sub monitor and use it. try analyzing things with that. you might see things differently. as said before, you might not hear anything below the 20 hz, but with a sub monitor in place things become different....and as said before YOU CAN FEEL IT.

i agree with Dj sound on pretty much everything he's said.

Rolling off is for n00bs. The pros use FIR lowshelf filters.

And as for my original comment, listen to this and tell me if he rolled of the lows.

I recommend a brickwall roll-off @ 40-50Hz to remove excess sub-bass and offset.

Oh, and if you think 17hz awesome, i don't agree

And yes, I can go down to about 0.01Hz here, you can see the cone go in and out slowly, its pretty cool.

There's really not that much that should be going on in your master channel.......................

An EQ and a limiter..............

As I initially mentioned about Funktion One sounds systems, they seem to be used alot in clubs here as a selling point and they bottom out at around 17hz. A speaker cant produce sub any lower audibly but it will interfere with the production of bass freq it should be able to play.

Althought a good club system should have management systems to cut unwanted freq ro maintain the condition of their investment. Too low bass can destroy cones by jumping them off their axis
