Thanks Michael!
I'm grabbing this as soon as I get home. I'm really curious about the Blue Monday mix as I haven't heard any remixes of this in years. And since it's right beside a Deep Dish track, I'll assume it's part of the "housey" section of this set...?
Feedback will come later, most likely on the weekend.
Cheers, and thanks again mate!

Michael,
Sorry for the late response, but I've just found some time.
This mix is really nice! There are several really nice tracks/remixes and I don't think you have the ability to mix poorly (:)) which always makes me happy :D.
You've played several of these tracks in some of your previous sets, but I think some of these are different remixes, and very good ones. The energy of this set was perfect up until 08. Moshic - Moroco Discoteca [Contrast] where it slowed down a little bit. I wasn't particularly fond of this track nor the next 09. Everything But The Girl - Lullaby Of Clubland (Chris Micali Mix) [White] which is odd, as I'm a good fan of Chris.
That being said, I think you should keep all of the first seven tracks in your playlists at some time or another. They're all great!
These 2 tracks really stood out to me though:
05. The Scrubz - Ready Cat [Toes in the Sand]
06. Quasar - Ritual Of Boogie (Yvel & Tristan Remix) [CDR]
10. Moshic & OMB - Tokyo Taxi (Tel-Aviv Mix) [Contrast] is a very wicked little trancer! It's got just a little taste of some PSY/GOA sounds, the right amount of vocal samples and is very trippy. Nice track.
15. 4mal feat. Ani - Layered Feelings (Original Mix) [Distinto] I like the way the vocals don't dominate this track. This is how vocal trance should be made!! (if you producers need to have vocals in your trance music that is ;)).
I'd have to rank this set in the my favorite 5 from you. Nice work once mate.
Thanks again for the special upload for us fans :D
Cheers,

I guess I should show my face since I was one of those who requested it! Have been away for the last few weeks so didn't get time to show my face.
Have a few hours on planes in the next few days so look forward to giving it my full attention. :)

Well just off the top of my head (in no particular order):
1. Progressive Elements March (2005) - this was the first set I snagged and it really showed me what kind of DJ skills you have!
2. 3 Hour Promo (27-10-05) - here's where I was first introduced to the godlike Snake Sedrick & Khans - Circular (Cassino & Laben Hurry mix)
3. March Promo Mix (02-03-07) - fantastic set! There's only 1 track on here that I'd have left out (the vocal one, surprise surprise :))
4. pE 017 - seems similar style to the March 07 promo, some house sounds, some GOA sounds and a touch of old-skool techno, all trying to be progressive :D. Lots of nice tracks in here, and any mix with New Order gets bonus points!
5. January Promo mix (06-01-07) - you managed to pack many good tracks into a 1 hr set.
It would be a nice surprise to see some GOA/PSY artists in your record-bag, such as Ticon, Atmos, Flowjob etc. Much of the music you currently spin has stolen many of their sounds from this genre, and now progressive is becoming interesting to me (well some of it is anyway, the PSY styled stuff :D).
I am not a fan of Progressive music, as I usually find it rather boring. Even Sarah Calsworth couldn't get my tastes to change much as I was and still am more a fan of great mixing. That's what lead me to download every mix I've seen of yours, your mixing skills. There's usually only 1 or 2 tracks in any of your sets that I find which I'd consider very good. I tune in for the great mixing, and I've never been disappointed!!
Cheers Michael!

I'm not a fan of typical goa/psy music. It have to be a mixture of prog & maybe goa/psy. Its very hard to describe it. I'm trying to put many kinds of progressive music in my sets and I hope so the sets will not be boring.

Michael,
Sorry for the late response. This is certainly another superb mix, as I've said before I'm the wrong person to comment on your technical skills but by heck you know how to pick great tunes :eyes:
Favourites for me in this mix:
Quasar - Ritual of the Boogie (Y&T Remix)
EBGT - Lullaby of Clubland
B.I.G - A Promise
Snake Sedrick - Fine Me
Jay Lumen - Way To Eternity.
Great stuff as always |
