What's with that time-old tradition of dunking one's donut into their coffee?
It's the image most people probably think of when they think of coffee and a donut, but does anyone actually do this??
Please help me answer this burning, life-altering question! |

| I saw Joe DiMaggio in Dinky Donuts, and he was dunking. |

| I don't drink coffee, so no. I usually get hot chocolate when I get donuts, but even then I don't dunk them. |

I've never dunked a donut, but I can't imagine them tasting good in coffee. :conf:
Am I missing some magic combination here? Should I make a stop on the way home? |

| If I had a plain doughnut, yes, I'd dunk. But I like my doughnuts by themselves because I usually get french crullers, and those are too delicate to dunk! |

Ew.
I don't dunk anything but a ball in a hoop. I also don't like little crumbs of whatever in my coffee or tea or milk. Note that I also don't drink coffee or tea.
I think people started dunking the plain old fashion donut in their tea/coffee and it took off from there. |

No idea man, I've never done it either. This is why I'd like to know why it's the common image of coffee+donut. |

s go to krispy kreme. Go to a bakery and buy yourself a real doughnut, or better yet, the "Doughnut Plant" in NYC. |
