International nightclub Pacha (pronounced PAH-sha, as in the Turkish term for “regal big cheese”) officially opened its 26th outpost in the old Sound Factory space.
It’s a club even an agoraphobe could love. And, in keeping with the spirit of Gotham nightlife, there’s a semi-secret, VIP-only lounge called Pachita on the top floor of the three-level behemoth.
Pachita, the exclusive lounge and dance floor on the top level that only select VIPs with the club's "passport" card are guaranteed access. The secret staircase leading up to Pachita is hidden behind the go-go shower lounge on the third floor.
Pachita is where you’ll find the usual array of uber lounge accoutrements, like high-concept design and low bottle-strewn banquettes. With some rather fine Euro adjustments: They’ll store unfinished bottles for your return visits. For the ladies, the finest bathrooms — and bathroom goodies — we’ve seen. Owner/celeb DJ Erick Morillo has installed VIP perks up the wazoo. High impact, sure. But sometimes you have to put your worst fears aside and live a little.

A rising star from New York's house scene, DJ/Producer Kai has gained a strong reputation for the electro-tribal-funk sound of his DJ sets and floor filling dance productions. With a fun filled blend of funk, electro, or tribal, Kai always keeps the crowd moving with unexpected twists and turns throughout the night. As testament to his skills, Grammy winning duo Deep Dish have said, "Chris and Kai's track 'Suffocation' is simply amazing. Its one of the best tribal tracks out there" Already a name growing in demand, Kai has played at some of the world's best venues including Crobar (NYC) and the now legendary Womb in Tokyo. After opening for Tiesto in China, Tiesto liked Kai's set so much that he hand picked Kai to be his opening DJ for his "In Search of the Sunrise 2006 tour" in China and the USA. Kai has also opened for Roger Sanchez for his "RELEASE YOURSELF" event further cementing Kai's status as a DJ on the rise.
In John Digweed's words "Kai has been making some great tracks over the years… [Kai's] really starting to find his feet and he's an excellent DJ as well." Kai has proven Digweed right on the last three Yooshi tours of Asia covering over 14 different cities including Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Jakarta, and Singapore. From his many years of experience playing many of New York's best clubs including Crobar, Sullivan Room, Discoteque, Le Souk and his 2 year residency at Plant Bar, Kai is now bringing his sound to clubbers around the world.
Working with his studio partner as Chris & Kai, the two found quick success with an original debut release of "Suffocation/Catch Me" on Yooshi Recordings. Following the Yooshi release with several critically acclaimed remixes on Hooj Choons, and Yo!, Chris & Kai established themselves as cutting edge producers. Chris & Kai's productions have been making waves on BBC Radio One with Pete Tong playing their forthcoming release on Alternative Route, "Gone to Heaven," several times on his Essential Selection. The mighty Sasha & Digweed also feature the same track as the closing song to their Essential Mix live from Renaissance, UK. "Catch Me" was also included on the Ultra Dance 05 CD compilation that reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts in the US.
Now dedicating more time to his solo productions, Kai's has proven himself as a producer to watch out for. His remix of UDG - New Generation, which was featured on his Kiss FM guestmix, has received full support from Sasha, Digweed, Deep Dish, Sander Kleinenberg, and Luke Fair. The track was also featured on Superchumbo's (Tom Stephan) KISS FM show. Here's what some DJs have to say about the track:

In addition Kai's original production, Find Myself is also featured on the MTV Sound System/Campari Red Passion CD. The CD is being given away on the Red Passion tour covering destination in Athens, Barcelona, and Ibiza. Out July of '06 is Kai's new original track on Azuli called Believe. Kai's vocal talents are displayed on this Ibiza disco anthem and its sure to make a strong impression for its release!
Kai is also proud to be a contributor to the very last release on Hooj Choons with his remix of Aphasia - Acapulco will being played by Sasha for his encores to this day. Kai's strong DJ sensibilities shine through on his original productions, all having caught the attention and DJ support of many A-list DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Luke Fair, Desyn Masiello, Deep Dish, D:Fuse, Danny Howells, Jimmy Van M, and Sander Kleinenberg just to name a few. DJ PATRICIA STARR BIOGRAPHY: Listening to the very talented young DJ Patricia Starr is like listening to your new favorite album that takes you on an emotional journey and leaves you off with a tingle in your stomach wanting more. New York’s No. 1 female DJ and huge talent in her own right is a self described “music maniac” breaking down musical barriers between genres of electronic music. DJ Patricia Starr is an equal opportunity Mixmaster –Tribal, Progressive, Electro, Vocal & Tech House music get mixed, blended and perfectly layered onto one another yet somehow it all makes sense like an interesting story with surprising twists and turns. First being drown to turntables after being inspired by one of her favorite DJs Junior Vasquez, Patricia Started playing in the NYC club circuit in the late 90’s and very quickly became a key player working with major DJs in the early stages of her career. Subsequently she has landed residencies at NYC chic downtown hotspots NV and Chaos, making her one of the first ever female DJs to hold multiple residencies at the busiest celebrity infested parties and gaining her popularity among promoters. Moving on to reside on the main floor of the legendary China Club and DJing parties for celebrities like Tara Reid, Wycleff Jean, Julez Santana, Busta Rythmes, Tommy Hilfeiger, Fabolous & Janice Dickinson of Americas Next Top Model just to name a few Patricia Starr was becoming a well known face on the New York music scene. Nevertheless Patricia Starr aims to make her mark as a producer having one of her remixes contribute to reaching a #2 spot on Billboard hot dance breakouts chart for maxi singles sales for Aria “Ti Amo” OH Music in February 2003. For production Patricia chooses Apple Logic Pro 7 which she says fits her needs perfectly enabling her to express her musical personality. Having classical training in piano as well as New York University Music Technology training creates a perfect combination for an inspired young producer who is also her own recording engineer and DJ making a complete lethal package. To truly take in the DJ Patricia Starr experience it’s a must to catch her live, which these days seems to be in New York City’s hottest mega clubs and lounges like Crobar, Quo or Butter, or on festival stages scattered throughout the world, where she works her magic in front of thousands of fans. She has studied with Robert Modica from the Neighborhood Playhouse and the William Esper Studios for Meisner. She has appeared in several plays in New York and in Cleveland.
