Hi everyone, as i stated sometime ago, i've been hired to write the music for a documentary...i've never posted any of my music on here, so i thought i'd give a small preview...unfortunately i don't have this attached to video write now, so its just the audio clip.

just a small 30second clip which is very ambient and used for background. This clip is structured in at 110bpm and is in perfect time, however when lining up with video, i often have to tweak the timing to line up. (i still have a bit of after work to do on this yet) enjoy the clip:

Hey your track is great my friend. I like the uniqueness - it sounds very earthy and somewhat new age. What sort of documentary are you working on? Either way keep us updated on your project as I'm always willing to support fellow TA's.

Random question...well, because it's a documentary...is there ever a scene where the camera is focused on the actor/actress while he/she is talking to the viewer? If so how do you guys record the dialogue? Do you guys mic the room or do you guys do a voiceover?

thanks for the comments!

i actually have nothing to do with the video part of it. However, the guy who does it, i met through university, and he's quite talented at what he does, looks very professional! I think it is raw audio from the scene, but he must be using a good microphone, becuase it sounds intact.

I like the way this sounds. What are some tools you used to get those sounds?

If you find out some good info on this subject let me know.
I'm currently doing a media project for school and cant decide how to do vocals. PM me so we don't hijack bruuen's thread :tongue2

here is a collection of the sound libraries i used:

pads - albino
strings/flue - East West Quantum Leap Gold Orchestra (essential for anyone serious about realistic orchestra sounds)
drums - Stormdrum

i say essential for real orchestra sounds, but for this clip i put a lot of reverb and effects on them to make them fit nicely, which may take a bit away from the 'real' sound
