The BBC have put together a short movie (56M) showing 5 different scenarios on how the world can end, as predicted by scientists.
I personally don't believe in this, but hey, it's a pretty cool show of effects. And well made.
Definately worth a watch.
I got hooked.

Good int it, fact my threads don't get much attention I'm really wanting people to see this, the first scenario will either make you want to watch more or stop. |

Watched this documentary. Well the scenarios are pretty scary. And they will happen. Dunno if we will experience them in our lifetimes. Some of the things mentioned in the documentary appeared bull ofcourse. For example they said 70,000 years ago a super volcanic eruption reduced man's population to about 5000 people. And what is Mr. Deputy Director of the TBM experiment doing in London on the day of his most important experiment in NY ? :toothless Cool video regardless. Makes you realize that the doom's day scenario is real and is going to happen one day.
Just checked the Yellow Stone activity status on their website.
| quote: | During the month of January 2007, 93 earthquakes were located in the Yellowstone Region. The largest of these shocks was a magnitude 2.8 on January 30, 2007 at 7:49 AM MST, located about 10 miles south southeast of Norris Junction, Wyoming. Two smaller earthquakes were felt near Old Faithful late in the evening of January 22.
Earthquake activity in the Yellowstone region is at relatively low background levels.
Ground Deformation Summary: Through January 2007, continuous GPS data show that most of the Yellowstone caldera continued moving upward at similar to slightly lower rates as the past year. The maximum measured ground uplift over the past 30 months is ~14 cm at the White Lake GPS station. An example can be found at: http://www.mines.utah.edu/~ggcmpsem...boscat_lkwy.gif
The general uplift of the Yellowstone caldera is scientifically interesting and will continue to be monitored closely by YVO staff.
An article on another recent uplift episode at Yellowstone and discussion of long-term ground deformation at Yellowstone and elsewhere can be found at: http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/yvo/2006/uplift.html |
Interesting stuff. |

Yes that last scenario was rubbish, as if there was that much concern they wouldn't have done the experiment, although mini black holes are created by particle accelerators all the time apparently.
You enjoy it though?
Watched it before?
The tsunami caused by the volcano falling in the ocean is probably the most posible, although it would not mean the end of the world, it would mean lots of trouble for the U.S. |

supervolcano and the virus are equally as possible |

| Yeah the video is quite interesting. :) Never watched it before. Only the asteroid scenario is doom's day IMO, but the chances are slim. The disease scenario is real. It can decimate the world population. Large nuclear accidents can also make for doom's day scenario. |

Well site a source. How is it possible to determine 70,000 years ago a volcano destroyed all but 5000 people on this planet ?
Edit : Never mind. Toba Catastrophe |
