This was taken from the btmusic forum...I don't believe it! How do you steal from a mastermind?!
Oh and I hear he is in a big lawsuit where someone is suing him for 10 million dollars? Link
Wow, I really hope it all ends well! |

yeah, saw this earlier today, but seems like it could be a hoax. no official statement on BT's site or his myspace. this is what one of our members had to say:
| quote: | The claim is that BT said he was offering "$20,000 US Dollars" , but then said the equipment was valued at "150k dollars." I'm sorry, but you just used a US dollar symbol. Why did you forget it the second time?
And if this WAS published, it should have been proofed by the editors, who would have flagged this. It makes BT look bad...
Also, it says "...project that serves the community in two ways:
1. .."
Ok, that's fine, but what happened to point #2?
Now, this "kevin" guy says it was in Keyboard Magazine, yet he offers no proof...no scan of it.
Other things that don'tt make sense:
+ The local media would've gotten a hold of this and plastered it all over the 'net.
+ If I was BT, I would have had better security the second time around, change location, or whatnot.
+ Why was this posted by "kevin" and not BT himself, or a spokesperson? Why is it not on his official MySpace page? Social networking sites spread news like wildfire. The more people know, the better the chance (possibly) of recovering a part or all that was lost.
+ The BT and M-Audio logos are posted without copyright or registered trademark "marks". No company I know of would ever do that. Further, he doesn't even mention in the release that M-Audio is helping our or providing goodies or discounts to anybody with information. So what's in it for M-Audio?
+ Why list the items with numbers, rather than bullets? Again, a professional issue.
+ "I would like to formally initiate a community project in this FORUM.." OK, now I call BS. There's no reason to put THAT in a press release in a magazine. You would say something like "on my official forum at www.btmusic.com. "

but that $10 million lawsuit is definitely real. :( |

Seems like he has the serial numbers to all of his equipment... in other words its all insured.
And the live set and other productions on the mac pro and the hard drives? May this be a lesson to backup your work and actually keep it at a different site maybe even a safe box... not only theft you have to worry about as an artist but fires and natural disasters.
Either way its a bad situation. |

It's 100% real...BT E-mailed me about this back in late January.
