Need a few pointers for my second tune.

Hello everyone.
Have been working on my second tune after getting really good feedback on my first tune.
Anyway I've got to a stage now where all the basic elements and arrangement is in place but its not sounding as good as I want it to sound.
I'm hoping that as with my first track, some of you would would be able to give it a listen and point out what still needs work, what sounds bad or good?. General production advice from those whom know more than me is what I need.

Hey,
Youre using CamelSpace for the intro a lot? :) First Preset? :)
Anyway, sounds quite good. I think the bass needs a little more low end, but I cant listen very loud at the moment so I'm not sure.
The slapped acoustic bass in the small break is very nice, and then the way you modulate it into the electric bass, very cool.
Synths in the back sound quite solid now.
The lead starting at 2:15 is not so much my taste, sounds a little cheap to me.
Nice key change towards the end, cool new lead.
About the sound... I think you did most things right. The elements sound like they have their place in the mix, and overall it sounds quite balanced. I cant point exactly but maybe it needs a little more groove. Maybe another percussive element, maybe a little swing, maybe even a heavier snapping snare. I am not sure but these are things you could try. :) |
