DJ Addy @ the Guvernment

I don't know if anyone was in the "Guv" on Saturday but Mark Oliver was away & they had DJ Addy spin instead. WOW!!! He was the answer to all you TAs who complain about Mark.
Addy's style can be explained only as tribal, bold, and very unique. I heard him spin few times in the "Comfort Zone" and I loved his tribal tech-house sound. But he had no trouble rocking all the guv-heads last week. In fact, I believe that he's much better than Mark. I hope to see more of him in other clubs because "CZ" is really dirty & sketchy. :whip:

Addy always spinz at SketchyZone on sundays at 2pm.
I use to go there just to hear his sets ;)

Addy is wicked ... "HARD", dark, uplifitng, aggressive and smooth like butta for his mixing.

Ok, I was there on Sat and I didn't like his style. First let me just say that I'm not a huge fan of house, (who knows maybe it'll grow on me?) anyway, I liked the guy that was on BEFORE Addy, he spun stuff like Punk, universal nation, lange-drifting away etc, that was awesome. I like harder stuff (I think it's electro? or techno probably...) but not the style that was played on Sat...just my op. Later ppl.:)

What's his style??

I couldn't imagine that anyone who doesn't like house would like Addy. I mean that is the cornerstone of his set.
AndoraStar you can find out a bit more about him here: http://www.eye.net/eye/issue/issue_.../djprofile.html

He's a really cool and approachable guy. If you like dark & tribal house check out his set at the "Comfort Zone" on Sundays (but beware if you have never been there before, the place leaves a lot to be desired) :eyes: He's known though to mix in a lot of cool samples into his set...

He kewl, he kewl... no doubt!

Hehehe, yeah, Addy's a kewl guy (should've seen him for halloween @ CZ, what a champ), and also a great house/tech-house/progressive/tribal DJ. He's got great skills (constantly mixing, doesn't even take short breaks), great song selection, and just a great attitude... props for that one!

And yes, CZ might have the best music (when it comes to house) in the whole freaking city, but the people in that place sometimes just scare the living hell out of me (the amount of drugs that gets consumed in that place is not even funny anymore). But who am I to comment on other people's choices...

...I'm out...

man i went there on NYE 2002 on monday night when the 24 rave was happening, i spent the last few hours there...the place looked like pure living hell :toothless ya, lot of SKETCHED out people there man, but it was safe, safe peeps in there, everyone smiling and just groooving to the beats, a sick vibe :) i miss that place i have to hit up CZ soon :D

Damn... wish I had known about this...

Even though I tend to steer away from the housier side of things at times I LOVE Addy, the man always throws down amazingly programmed sets, with phenominal tracks. And as a producer he is gonna get damn big soon I think...

His remix of Hollis P. Monroe - I'm so Lonely (Addy's dark and lonely 2002 mix) is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!
